Homemade Photo Equipment
In trying to do photgraphy on a budget, I've found a lot
of fun toys I wanted to play with, and couldn't afford. The solution in some
cases was to buy reparable equipment and get it working again, like the 4x5
camera. In other cases, I would rig something from scratch. While they may not
have all of the bells and whistles of the commercial product, they've worked
for my needs, and have saved money I really couldn't have justified spending.
This is kind of an ongoing process, in that someone once suggested that for
me an appropriate mantra would be "toystoystoystoystoys!".
Most of the stuff I've made is pretty basic, and the materials can be picked
up at your local hardware store for fairly little cash.
